At one time, supertankers were built here. After the industry left, artists took over the sheds and cranes and gave the area a new, creative life. That pioneering spirit is still palpable.
Today, you live here in an environment that is constantly changing. Art, festivals, hospitality and creative activity create a lively rhythm, without losing its unique character. You can walk straight into an exhibition, have coffee in a former warehouse, or meet by the water. No two days are ever quite the same here.
