An urban neighborhood for you

De IJ-Loods was designed by the German architectural firm CKSA, with the question of how to create a place on the dynamic NDSM wharf that is not only urban, but also truly feels like home.

The design of the quarter and buildings connects urban energy with comfort and security. Houses with beautiful views, carefully designed meeting places and plenty of space for greenery create a living environment that is not only architecturally strong, but above all feels pleasant in everyday life.

That makes it not only a strong design, but more importantly, a place where you quickly feel welcoming.

ARCHITECTURE

Enjoying outdoor space

All homes feature outdoor space, from a private balcony overlooking the NDSM wharf and the IJ to communal roof gardens. A natural extension of your home.

Meeting in the shared greenhouse

All residential buildings are connected by a central inner street with green courtyard gardens and two communal greenhouses in the heart of the quarter. A sheltered place where you meet or just sit for a while, a place of tranquility inside the dynamics of the city.

Green living for everyone in the collective rooftop garden

Atop the shared parking garage is a green, collective roof garden with seating areas, children's play area, a herb garden and the two greenhouses. The central interior street provides easy access to this area for all residents.
